Inside The Firm

Michael established Benn & Company CPAs in 1997 after working in public accounting and private industry. He has been in operational management and served as a corporate controller. Michael draws on this broad background by providing clients with expertise in tax, audit and accounting, as well as control systems review, design and implementation. As a former elected official, Michael is familiar with local government, administration, and public finance.

Candice joined Benn & Company CPAs in November of 2010 and offers experience in both international and domestic income tax.  She specializes in nonprofit and for profit business taxation.  Candice manages the preparation of personal, business and nonprofit tax returns and oversees compliance in all related areas.  Her work also focuses on sales tax reporting and she assists clients with tax audits and federal & state government notices.

As the Operations Manager for the firm’s Offsite Accounting department, Julie oversees staff to ensure work is completed timely and accurately.  Utilizing her past experience as a controller and financial analyst, she is able to assist clients with general business and bookkeeping questions.  Julie is also responsible for QuickBooks training and consulting.  She can provide remote assistance when clients have questions regarding their QuickBooks files.

Patrick has over 25 years of accounting experience, offering familiarity in many realms of accounting.  His previously held positions include Treasurer, Director of Accounting and Administration, Tax Manager, and Controller.  He manages the auditing and accounting departments, working closely with local governments including fire districts and departments, assisting these clients with audit and compliance questions.
